Artist Point Ride

Let's meet up for breakfast at Denny's in Arlington. Kickstands Up at 9am. Fuel is available nearby.

Artist Point is one of those jaw-dropping experiences if you've never been there before. It is my favorite ride in Washington state, both for the ride and

what you can experience at the destination. When I was mountain climbing, it would take me most of the day to get to where you will be parking.

There are two trails that lead from the area. Both are on the ridgeline, which means little elevation gain to hike along the trails.

I plan to ride up...then spend another 2 to 3 hours hiking along the area and just soak in the incredible beauty around me...then head back down.

Bring shoes you can hike in. Also, bring your lunch. For some reason, McDonalds has never built one of their restaurants here. :D

Warning: the road is not for the faint-hearted. You start with wonderful sweepers, and as you get closer, the road gets more and more technical. There are 15 mph corners. I dare you to reach 10 mph.

And I have to warn you that our governor is more interested in painting our street crossings in rainbow colors than fixing potholes. Don't count on smooth and flat roads.

But I still think this is the most incredible ride you will find in Washington state.

Registration/Fees

There are no registration fees, but we're asking everyone to register online so we have an idea of how many people to expect.
